Ohio native Thomas G. Widman has more than 20 years of experience in law practice. Licensed as an attorney in 1992, Mr. Widman focuses on real estate, foreclosure defense and family law. He brings a wealth of experience to the complexities that arise in these areas. Mr. Widman has worked with numerous clients including families, adults, juveniles, and corporations, while bringing a sense of confidence, security, and knowledge to each unique case.

As a domestic relations attorney, Mr. Widman is available to help clients in the following areas: divorce, dissolution, legal separation, custody, child support, alimony, visitation, division of property, modification, contempt, paternity, guardian ad litem, and more.

Attorney Widman has a wealth of experience representing minor children as counsel and guardian ad litem, in both Domestic Relations Court and Juvenile Court. In addition to being an advocate for the children of separating or divorcing parents, he has also represented babies and other children who have been severely injured as a result of abuse and neglect. Protecting the rights of small children, who are unable to speak for themselves, is something that gives Attorney Widman particular satisfaction.

As a real estate attorney, Mr. Widman is able to assist with residential and commercial real estate sales. His representation can include assistance with the initial offer, preparing the purchase agreement, reviewing the title insurance and loan documents, attending the closing, reviewing surveys, restrictions, property inspections, and easements, etc.

He is a licensed title insurance agent and therefore can assist clients with all of their title insurance needs. He has a unique and extensive background in title examination, which can become very helpful as clients attempt to determine the status of the title to their residential or commercial properties.

Attorney Widman can draft and/or review any real estate documents that might be needed, including deeds, leases, land contracts, mortgages, loan documents, escrow agreements, hold-harmless/indemnity agreements, condominium documents, association documents, restrictions, easements, etc.

Mr. Widman is available to assist title agents and title underwriters with the defense of title insurance claims. He has prosecuted thousands of residential foreclosure cases and hundreds of title claims, and is especially suited to defend title claims that have been submitted by insured lenders.

The firm is also able to assist with all of your title search and/or title examination needs.  Marketable title searches, longer commercial title searches, title updates, lien searches, and recording services are all offered.

Attorney Widman has earned the respect of his peers.  In 2009, Attorney Widman was nominated to become a Fellow in the Ohio State Bar Foundation.  The Ohio State Bar Foundation is the charitable arm of the Ohio State Bar Foundation.  It goal is to improve public understanding of the rule of law and to build a better justice system.  The foundation takes action by granting funds, addressing specific legal needs through service opportunities, and by honoring accomplishments made by members of the public and the legal community.  Attorney Widman is proud of his contributions to the OSBF as one of its Fellows.
